Anyone attempted to depressurize instant pot would know it is a pain in the rear when moisture splatters all over the place as the valve is opened.

FUNCTION
1.Releasing the pressure from the Instant Pot. Divert the steam to the side.
2.Limit the liquid from splattering out. The liquid build up will travel back down and eventually gets into the reservoir.
3.Keep your kitchen clean and less smelly by redirecting the steam away from cabinets and walls. It’s wonderful at protecting your face and hands from burns.
If you have small children in the home who might be able to reach the IP or curious pets that might climb onto the countertop its on I would caution its use.
CAUTION
1.DO NOT grab this product from the bottom because the steam can leak out from the bottom and burn you if you’re not careful.
2.Gotten the steam valve completely closed. NOT to put a towel over this and to put it on before venting.
3.You should put the handle cover to encase around the WHOLE knob. AND test it to release steam in any direction you want. Thus, the accessory will sit tight and stand up. It is a stable structure and right hardness of the silicone.
4.You do have to leave it off until you are ready to release steam but it then fits snuggly, seals well and works great. If you forget and put it on to soon the steam will continue to be ejected and you will not get up to pressure as quickly.. You have to wait until ready to release steam then put it on.
