NEW – Ninja Foodi Smart XL Indoor Grill – coming soon!

Ninja Foodi Smart XL Indoor Grill leaked on the support pages on the Ninja website this week.

What do we know?

Ninja Foodi Smart XL Indoor Grill Functions:

  • Grill
  • Air Crisp
  • Roast
  • Bake
  • Dehydrate
  • Broil

From reading the documentation (See links below!) it seems there are some great improvements from the original Ninja Grill devices.

I’m glad to see a little storage area for the probe as I am always losing my existing probe in my kitchen drawers.  I would have expected a larger spatter shield given the extra width of the new grill but it seems the new design allows for a smaller disk-shaped design.

The new device comes with a number of presets so it looks like you will be able to choose your type of meat and level of doneness so you will not have to constantly be remembering the correct temperature for your choice of meat (I know I can never remember!!)

The larger grill plate will be awesome for us as a large family, I can’t wait to hear more about the new Ninja Foodi Smart XL Indoor Grill. I wonder if the larger grill plate will accommodate a couple of racks of ribs!

We wait for pricing and availability and will share more information as we hear more.

Visit our store for the new device and accessories as they are released.

Ninja Foodi Best Ribs Recipe

Ninja Foodi Best Ribs Recipe

Ninja Foodi Best Ribs Recipe took some trial and error

So I’ve tried many different approaches for making ribs but I think after many tries I have found the Ninja Foodi best ribs recipe.

First, grab your ribs and remove the membrane from the back. If you don’t do this the ribs will be tough to separate.

Ninja Foodi Best Ribs Recipe

Generously cover and rub your ribs, both sides, with Weber’s Brown Sugar Dry rub (or your rub of choice!)

The first step is to pressure cook your ribs to get the ‘fall off the bone’ tenderness.

Put half a cup of Apple Cider and half a cup of water in the bottom of your pot.

Place the ribs on a trivet at the bottom of the pot (to save the bottom of the ribs overcooking and to get even cooking). Secure your pressure cooking lid and make sure your vent is closed on top.

Pressure cook on HIGH for 30 minutes. Once finished let the ribs sit and natural pressure release for 5 minutes before you open the vent and quick release the rest of the pressure.

Pull out the ribs. Be careful now because the meat by now will be fall off the bone tender!!

Cover your ribs in your favorite BBQ sauce, all over!

Empty out your juices in the pot from the pressure cooking and then place the air crisp basket in.

You will probably have to cut your ribs into two or three strips if they have not already started to fall apart!

Select air crisp 390 degrees and time of 8 minutes.

Close the lid and let the Ninja Foodi work it’s magic!

Check every 4 minutes and make sure the ribs are finishing up nicely.

Crisp to your personal taste.

Add some tasty sides, tonight we had Kingsford baked beans with pork and mashed potatoes.

The end result…..

Storing your Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker Lid

Store your Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker Lid

How to store your Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker Lid

The air crisper/fryer lid is attached by a hinge so there until now has been no easy way to store the pressure cooker lid.

Check out this awesome little add-on to solve your storage needs.  Once placed on top of the air crisp lid the pressure cooker lid sits firmly and securely on top!

See options below and check the store for more accessories!

Cleaning your Ninja Foodi (OP300 Series)

Cleaning your Ninja Foodi

There are a lot of moving parts to the multifunction Ninji Foodi!  With the two lids, crisper basket, seal ring, pressure release toggle it is good to know the rights and wrongs when it comes to cleaning the machine.

There are some very handy tips in the Cleaning your Ninja Foodi video:

  • Do not disassemble the pressure release valve to clean it
  • How to remove and clean the sealing ring
  • How to remove the fins from the base of the crisper basket
  • How to clean the top of the air crisper lid vs pressure cooker lid

Watch the quick video and see how to best take care of your Ninja Foodi!

The sealing rings can be washed with warm soapy water or placed in the dishwasher.

You can get replacement sealing rings for your Ninja Foodi, over time they wear and can also retain the smell from more spicy or aromatic dishes that you create like curry (my personal favorite!)

Cleaning your Ninja Foodi Grill

Ninja Foodi Grill

Check out this video on how to maintain and clean your Ninja Foodi Grill!

This is the official video from Shark Ninja on how to keep your Ninja Foodi Grill clean.

This will help to reduce smoke issues when cooking as well as make sure nothing you are doing to clean your Ninja Foodi Grill is unsafe or might void your warranty.

You can also make it easier to clean out the pans/baskets in your Ninja Foodi Grill and air fryers by using parchment paper inserts:

Remember to ensure you have food on these sheets though to weigh them down and stop the parchment paper being sucked up into the heating element with the cyclone airflow of the Ninja Foodi airfry/air crisp functions!
